eScrip: You shop, they donate!

If you haven't yet heard, eScrip is a fun and easy way to donate throughout the year. Register any or all of your grocery, credit or ATM cards, and each time you shop, participating merchants will donate a % of your purchase to CVS.

To enroll, visit the eScrip website at: http://www.escrip.com/
or call CVS and ask to have a form mailed to you. The CVS group ID number is 142413463.

Each gift helps bring support to a child, young person, or adult who has suffered the violent crime of sexual assault and its traumatic after-shock. Donations also support our critical prevention education programs.

Community Violence Solutions relies on the generosity and support of many individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community. We invite you to help us provide vital services to those impacted by sexual assault and family violence, and increase safety for everyone in our community.

Your gift of:
$25 will provide 2 hours of crisis counseling to a rape victim on our hotline
$50 will provide play therapy supplies for our child victims for one month
$100 will provide a day of emergency housing for a victim
$250 will provide scholarships for 8 teenage girls to attend a self-defense class
$500 will provide a specialized forensic interview for an abused child
$1000 will provide group therapy to 7 sexual assault survivors

Non-Cash Gift Opportunities

As an alternative to an outright cash gift, consider one of the following gift options as a way to offset individual income tax and support the vital programs CVS offers to sexual assault survivors:

Real Estate
• Appreciated Stock
• Charitable Remainder Trust
• Charitable Lead Trusts
• Mutual Fund Shares
• Funds from 401K or other Retirement Accounts

Before making your next charitable gift, speak with your attorney and tax advisor to maximize the benefits of charitable giving. Rhonda James, Community Violence Solutions’ Executive Director, will be pleased to discuss the many options for giving. She can be reached directly at (510) 307-4112 or by email at rjames@cvsolutions.org.

• Vehicle Donations

CVS works with Donate For Charity to process our vehicle donations. Donate For Charity arranges a free vehicle pickup, handles all the DMV issues, sells the vehicle at auction, and distributes the net proceeds to Community Violence Solutions. By donating, you’ll avoid the headache of selling a used vehicle, help support Community Violence Solutions, and receive a receipt entitling you to declare the sale price of your vehicle (or the fair market value up to $500) as a tax deduction. When you’re ready to donate, or want to learn more, simply call Donate For Charity toll-free at (866) 392-4483 or donate online, or contact Community Violence Solutions directly at (510) 237-0113.
